The cemetary always looks so nice on Memorial Day. It has lots of flags and new pots of flowers. It always has lots of people. I love being there that weekend. I find it comforting there. Sometimes I just drive through. Sometimes I lay on his grave and sob. Sometimes I just sit and ponder. I do what I need to I guess.

This song is by Shirley Murdock. It is beautiful. It is a tear jerker. There is a chorus between lines that says celebrate my life… celebrate… I used it as a funeral. I read it for the message. I love to play it and sing it at the top of my lungs.

Don’t cry for me because I’ve gone to a better place. Try not to cry for me because I see the savior’s face. Just hold on. Hold on to all our memories. One day God will wipe away your tears and sorrow will be done. I’m looking forward to that wonderful day when the Lord shall wipe all our tears away. Never again will we have to part. We will all have his peace and his joy in our heart. Know that you will see me again. Love the Lord with all your heart and he will see you through. One day we will greet each other with a warm embrace. Celebrate my life. Celebrate the years. Celebrate the laughter. Celebrate the fun. Celebrate, the light that is my life, in your heart.

This database has a collection of songs and clips about grief and loss. It has quite a variety. The songs can be used for memorials, memorial verses , funerals, etc.. I have found a lot of comfort in music.

Here is something I want to share with everyone. It is a candle lighting tribute for the holidays (can be used for birthdays~anniversaries etc..) You can do it with family and friends or on your own. You will need four candles. There are five passages. Here goes.

As we light these four candles in honor of you, we light one for our grief, one for our courage, one for our memories and one for our love.

The light of this first candle represents our grief. The pain of losing you is intense. It reminds us of the depth of our love for you.

The light of this second candle represents our courage to confront our sorrow; to comfort each other; to change our lives.

This third candle is a light to all of our memories of you. To the times we laughed, the times we cried, the times we were angry with each other, the silly things you did, the caring and joy you gave us.

This fourth candle is the light of our love. As we enter this holiday season, day by day, we cherish the special place in our hearts that will always be reserved for you. We thank you for the gift your life brought to each of us. We will love you always.
