Hallmark had this on an ornament this year. I love the verse…

I know I am still with you
in your prayers, your thoughts, your heart.
And though you cannot see me,
I will always be a part
of life’s sweet celebrations
in those times when you reflect on how things are different,
through our love, we still connect.
We’ll see each other someday
when our spirits are free,
until then, I am with you because you remember me.

The moment that you died,
My heart split in two,
The one side filled with memories,
The other died with you.
I often lay awake at night,
When the world is fast asleep,
And take a walk down memory lane,
With tears upon my cheeks.
Remembering you is easy,
I do it every day,
But missing you is a heartache,
That never goes away.
I hold you tightly within my heart,
And there you will remain,
Life has gone on without you,
But it never will be the same.
For those who still have their husbands,
Treat him with tender care,
You will never know the emptiness,
As when you turn and he is not there.

Always and Forever

I love these. Some express what I cannot put into words.

Death is nothing at all

Death is nothing at allI have only slipped away into the next roomI am I and you are youWhatever we were to each otherThat we still are

Call me by my old familiar nameSpeak to me in the easy way which you always usedPut no difference into your toneWear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow

Laugh as we always laughedAt the little jokes we always enjoyed togetherPlay, smile, think of me, pray for meLet my name be ever the household word that it always wasLet it be spoken without effectWithout the ghost of a shadow on it

Life means all that it ever meantIt is the same as it ever wasThere is absolutely unbroken continuityWhat is death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mindBecause I am out of sight?I am but waiting for you at an intervalSomewhere very nearJust around the corner

All is well.

Henry Scott Holland 1847-1918Canon of St Pauls Cathedral

I wish it was this easy.. I cannot wait to hear Welcome Home.

To Those I Love And Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me,let me go–
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears,
Be thankful for our many beautiful years.
I gave to you my love,You can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it’s time I traveled on alone.
I won’t be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me,I’ll be near
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I’ll greet you with a smile and say–
“Welcome Home”
